The Knoxville Girls Golf Squad made it a Panther sweep yesterday at Pine Knolls with a 235-255 victory over Clarke in their season opener. Playing in windy, and chilly conditions, Maggie Leavitt fired a 52 to lead Knoxville while Lizzy Sullivan scored a 54. Coach Matt Heston tells KNIA/KRLS it was good to get off to a good start beating a conference team, but knows the rest of the South Central Conference lies ahead. Heston was pleased with how the girls handled the less than ideal for golf conditions and says there are areas to improve on between now and their next event in a triangular with Clarke and Carlisle.
