Ten total goals were scored between Pella High and Norwalk’s soccer teams last night. Unfortunately for the Little Dutch, they scored zero of those while the Warriors put in three in a shutout loss to the conference leaders. Coach Mark Solomon tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that Pella played very well in the second half and Norwalk made some tremendous saves in goal to keep his team off the scoreboard. The Lady Dutch had the other seven goals yesterday in their 7 – 0 shutout win over the Warriors. Coach Mark Howard called it the best game they’ve played so far against a good opponent. Kayla Langstraat and Katie VanderMolen had first half goals, while Bella Huang and Maddie Canfield both scored a pair and Grace Held added the seventh and final strike. Pella’s girls are now 8 – 2, the boys drop to 7 – 7; each squad is off the rest of the week for Tulip Time and will play Newton next Tuesday.
