The PCM Boys soccer team knew this week would be a challenge from the get go facing some of their toughest competition to date, but the Mustangs started it off rising to the occasion in a heartbreaking 2-1 loss in double overtime to the Blue Demons of Albia.
The Mustangs would get a goal from stalwart Misha Seebeck and the score would be tied nearly all the way through the second overtime, but Albia would sneak one in with just a minute and a half left. The Mustangs fall to 3-6 on the season, and play Newton on Thursday. On the girls side, the Lady Mustangs would fall prone to some mental mistakes in the first half allowing five goals in a 5-2 loss to the Ballard Bombers. The girls would steady the defense in the second half as well as put some pressure on the Bombers, but the deficit would prove to be too large to come back from. The Lady Mustangs would get goals from Abby Waddell and Jessica Albright on a PK, but fall to 5-10 on the season. The Lady Mustangs will next clash with Chariton on Thursday.
