Two area schools will prepare to compete with the state’s best at the Blue Oval today for the State Track Meet, PCM and Pleasantville will both have competitors vying for a state championship.
The PCM Girls squad had one of their best meets at the right time, and would qualify eight different competitions to the meet. Individual qualifiers include state title competitor Jayci Vos as she looks to continue her dominance in the 400 hurdles, Ashley Van Gorp in the Long Jump, and Rachel Stafford in the 800m run. The relay teams showed up in a big way for the Mustangs, as five teams would qualify. The Distance Medley and Sprint Medley teams would both qualify, as well as the 4×200, 400, and 800 relay teams all had good enough times to qualify.
For the Mustang Boys, Noah Clark would be the lone qualifier in the Discus throw. As for Pleasantville, sophomore standout Hunter Tyree will be the lone Trojan competitor. Tyree placed second in the qualifying meet at Van Meter.
