The Melcher-Dallas Softball Squad fell to Bluegrass Conference favorite Murray last night 7-1. The Saints got an outstanding effort in the circle from Emilie Krpan, who struck out 12 Mustang batters, but it was six walks and timely hitting in the third and fourth innings that proved to be the Saints downfall as Murray plated three runs in each of those frames to jump on top 6-0. The only Melcher-Dallas score was in the fourth inning when Sydney Suntken drew a bases loaded walk to score Megan Roush. This has been a tough week for the Saints as they have already played and lost to class 2A seventh ranked I-35 and tomorrow travel to Moravia another favorite in the BGC. Coach Jim Crozier told KNIA/KRLS Sports this is a tester week to see just where his team is. The Saints Baseball Squad did not fare any better in their game against Murray as Melcher-Dallas lost 11-1 in five innings.
