A short-handed Knoxville Baseball team dropped a pair of games in Carlisle on Saturday. Six juniors on the varsity roster spent much of the day taking the ACT in Pella. The Panthers lost 8-1 to the host Wildcats, before dropping the second contest of the day 11-3 to Des Moines Christian. Senior Tanner Sharp started on the mound against Carlisle, and he kept it close until the slugging Wildcats scored five runs in the fourth inning on two home runs DJ Snyder drove in the only Knoxville run with an RBI single in the first inning. He had two of the Panthers four hits in that game. Sophomore Tanner Mason, Jacob Zuck, and Freshman Tyler Vaske and RJ Roberts all pitched in the game against Des Moines Christian. The Knoxville offense never got on track in this one either against Lions ace Nick Fox. Justin Little and Trent Davis each had a pair of base hits for the Panthers. Knoxville falls to a 7-8 overall on the season. Next up for the Panthers is a Tuesday afternoon game against Bondurant-Farrar at Principal Park in Des Moines.
