Kids ages 9 to 11 who want to learn how to cook can make memories at Central College during Fun With Food camp next month.
Participants can learn gardening skills in the Central College garden, including how to plant, what kinds of vegetables grow well and how to identify them, as well as nutrition and cooking from July 25th to 29th.
Coordinator of sustainability education Giselle Bruskewitz says Fun with Food is planned around a summer Olympics theme, incorporating both friendly competition and cultural cuisine.
Camp activities also include cooking outdoors and community field trips, such as visiting an egg farm and other locations to experience where food comes from. P
Camp registration is open online at central.edu/camps. Registration is $180.
