If you’re going to drive to southeastern Iowa for a couple of softball games…you might as well come back with two wins.
That is just what the Knoxville Softball Squad did yesterday as they won both contests at the Keokuk Invitational. The Panthers started the day by routing Moravia 11-to-nothing. Delaynne South pitched six innings and got the win allowing four hits and striking out six. Ricki Hall and Emily Wallace led the Panther offense with two hits each…one of Hall’s was a triple she also collected two R-B-Is.
In game two…the Panthers got a measure of revenge over Keokuk…who had previously beat them earlier in the season in a doubleheader…winning five-to-nothing. Jada Agan pitched a complete game shut out…scattering six hits and striking out five. Hall again carried a big bat at the plate going two-for-two with a triple…she also added two stolen bases. Emily Wallace was two-for-two and Anna Sanderson was two-for-three with three R-B-I. The Panthers return home for a conference game against Albia tonight. You can hear it on AM 1320 and 95-point-three KNIA and streamed live at KNIA KRLS dot com at around seven-15.
