In game one of their odd doubleheader, the Pleasantville Trojans Softball team would defeat Mt. Ayr 6-2 and drive over to Bedford in game two 15-3 for the Pride of Iowa Sweep.
In the afternoon game, Paige Busick had a pinch hit RBI double in the sixth inning that proved to be the game winning hit for Pleasantville, and the offense was led by Andie Swers, Corinne Thomas, and Avari Heinz-Penz all getting two hits at the dish. In game two The Trojans offense exploded, with Hannah Gordon and Heinz-Penz both getting home runs, and Kailey Brown got a pair of hits at the plate and Bailey Oliva getting the win on the mound with eight strikeouts. The Trojans improve to 12-9 and play in a tournament at Melcher-Dallas today. The Baseball Team was equally as dominant, putting on a show vs Mt. Ayr 15-2 and defeating Bedford 6-0. Nate Sowers picked up the win for the Trojans in game one, and Cael Lester punctuated the offense with a grand slam. In game two Kyle Amendt was dominant on the mound pitching a complete game two hit performance. The Baseball Squad is now 17-8 and play on Monday against Montezuma in Iowa City.
