The final major project for the city of Pella’s underground electric conversion is set to begin next month.
City of Pella Finance Director Corey Goodenow says the city council approved a contract to move overhead power lines and replace them with underground wires near Central College.
Goodenow says the city has completed 90% of the lines that can be moved underground, which has helped improve reliability.
The contract cost the city approximately $221,300.
