As the Pella Volleyball team returns to the court this fall, they do so with a veteran group supplemented by a talented pair of underclassmen.
Eight starters from the state qualifying Lady Dutch in 2015 return, and nine seniors are listed on the roster. Head Coach Catie Brand tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the seasoned bunch is motivated to capitalize on the mix of talent and experience this year.
“Our seniors feel like this is kind of their moment to shine,” Brand says. “And they’ve put in a ton of time in the offseason–in the weight room, doing strength and conditioning, had a lot of skill work, and you can tell the excitement is there to just start putting it together.”
Pella will be led by six seniors in the main rotation, including middle Katie Vander Molen, setter Kiki Pingel, libero Jenna Murphy, defensive specialist Kristen Rundle, and outside hitters Natalie Meyer and Kiara Bradley.
The Lady Dutch begin the season on August 23rd at home against Ballard.
