Iowa Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) will hold its fifth annual tournament on Sunday, September 18th at Bos Landen Golf Course.
Lt. Paul Haase with the Pella Police Department says the non-profit helps families of fallen officers with end-of-life expenses.
“This organization goes out and works with the family members of the fallen officer and works with the agency of the fallen officer to help with major things such as funeral services and the logistics of going to that, as well as just being there for the family–giving resources, funds, and support to that family and the officers of that agency,” he says.
Haase says getting involved with the golf classic would be a great way to support law enforcement.
“It’s open to the public and anyone in the community that wants to be a part of this,” he says. “The Pella Police Department has a team that’s going to be involved, as well as a couple of local businesses that have stepped up and made donations and are going to participate.”
