While Pella High School will remain under construction for most of the 2016-17 academic year, other projects in the district are wrapping up this fall.
Superintendent Greg Ebeling says the school board and administrators were hopeful Lincoln Elementary and Jefferson Intermediate would be complete by the time school starts August 23rd, but work will continue into September at both locations.
“Jefferson is slated to be done in September, we were really hoping for the beginning of the year but there were some delays that happened there and so we ended up probably shooting for a date around mid-September for that project to be completed,” Ebeling says.
“The Lincoln project, we were also hoping that it would be completed, but we’re still finishing up some of the underground water retainage and that’s been a very slow process.”
He says the goal is to have green space for students at Lincoln by the end of fall.
