Shane Stewart is now two for his last two at the Knoxville Raceway. After winning Sunday’s Capitani Classic, he stepped it up a notch by taking night one of the 56th Annual Five Hour Energy Knoxville Nationals. Jeff Swindell started on the pole of the A-Main and took the early lead, but Stewart slid him in turn four to take command on lap nine. After a couple of sliders by Donny Schatz, Stewart was out in front and won by over a second. Schatz took second with Chad Kemenah completing the podium Daryn Pittman and Jamie Veal completed the top five. Stewart told KNIA/KRLS Sports the race track has been very racy all of the times he has been at Knoxville. Daryn Pittman, who was quick time is the point leader after night one with Veal in second followed by Schatz ,Kemenah, and Stewart in the top five. Tonight the second half of the field will try to position themselves in the top 16.
