The department’s “Ice Cream with a Cop” is a way of thanking the community for all the support they receive. Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada reports 200 people attended the event to sample different types of ice cream and brownies. Losada highlighted the importance of friendly interactions between police and the public. He says the most common interaction between people and the police is when they are in trouble or causing trouble, making it all the important to have positive relationship building events.
