Local high school football teams know the opponents they will have to beat to earn a trip to the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls.
Round one action this Friday features all home games on the KNIA/KRLS airwaves. No. 2 Pella will have a familiar foe to start their quest for three straight championships, as they host Oskaloosa for the second time this season, which can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS. Head Coach Jay McKinstrey says the Little Dutch need to be ready for a much-improved Indians team.
In Class 1A, No. 2 Pella Christian will look to overcome an opponent they’ve struggled to beat in recent years as they host former district foe Sigourney-Keota, which will be live on KNIA. Pleasantville stays at home to face Madrid on KNIA3.
PCM will stay in Monroe against Heart of Iowa conference opponent Roland-Story on KNIA2 in class 2A, and in eight-man Twin Cedars will host Iowa Valley of Marengo. That broadcast will be available via the KRLS2 stream.
