The PCM Mustangs have known for awhile they would be in the Iowa high school state football playoffs but tonight the rubber will meet the road as the Roland Story Norsemen roll into Monroe to do battle with the Mustangs in round one of the playoffs.

A year ago PCM fell in round one of the playoffs in a game in which their offense only scored 10 points. This season the Mustangs look to change that as their offense has averaged just over 47 points per game all season long. What stands in the way of the PCM offense? A Roland Story defense that has only allowed an average of 14 points per game to opposing offenses. Most notably what will physically stand in the Mustangs way are the Norsemen’s two major play makers on defense, Senior defensive end Calvin Bright and Junior Garek Hurd who between the two have 18 sacks on the season. Senior Calvin Bright who stands 6 feet 4 inches and weighs in at 245 pounds, will be a physical presence that the Mustangs will have to find a way to deal with if they want to come out of tonight’s match up with a win. The first round of the Class 2A state playoff game between PCM and Roland Story will kick off from Monroe tonight at 7 pm.
