Knoxville Schools will be having students participate in several computer programming activities during this week.
Students will be participating in “The Hour of Code”, a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. The students will take one-hour tutorials that encourage dynamic problem solving and strategizing. Educators Tyler Pearson and Lindsey Carlson, the district’s designated technology integrationists, say more than half of the district’s students will participate in the hour during the week. At 12:15 p.m. today a special certificate will be presented at North Star Elementary for the district’s participation in the “Hour of Code”.
