During their policy and planning meeting following regular business Tuesday, the Pella City Council discussed potential economic incentives for a 3D Printing company planning their move to Pella.
Agile Manufacturing, which provides services to manufacturers and other industries, has applied for financial assistance after receiving notice of possible aid from the state to invest $1.6 million for a new location in Pella. City Administrator Mike Nardini says the city would provide a match for a portion of the state funds allocated for the proposal.
The money would be distributed through two $9000 loans–one that is low-interest, the other is forgivable. Agile, a Canadian based 3D printing company, believes they can add 15 high-paying jobs in Pella over the next three years. The aid agreement will come before the council sometime in January, with Agile planning to move to Pella by February 1st.
