No criminal charges will be filed in the case of former Pleasantville High School science teacher Craig Southall.
The Pleasantville School Board accepted Southall’s resignation in connection with an accusation of misconduct that occurred in August. Pleasantville Police Chief Joe Mrstik tells KNIA/KRLS News allegations were thoroughly investigated, but no criminal conduct was found to have taken place. Pleasantville Schools Superintendent Tony Aylsworth tells KNIA/KRLS News the district pursued a complaint against Southall with the Iowa Board of Education Examiners and as a result Southall’s license to teach in Iowa has been permanently revoked.
