A man recently of Pleasantville, but with no known current address, was arrested in Knoxville for possession of methamphetamine Wednesday.
Steven Schakel was stopped by Knoxville officers while walking on Third Street, when he was observed behaving erratically. Schakel admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine and submitted to a search which revealed a pen cap with a white residue. Officers tested the residue and determined it was methamphetamine. When they arrived at a residence on 7th street to arrest Schakel, they searched him again and found a plastic bag of what was later determined to be meth. Schakel is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent, a Class D felony.
