A Pella woman is accused of stealing lottery tickets while she was working at a Casey’s General Store.

Diana Lee Rick, 42, is charged with forgery-lottery fraud, a class D felony. According to court documents, Rick was employed at Casey’s and allegedly stole 17 Holiday Crossword Scratch tickets valued at $10 each. She’s accused of then scratching off the scanning box and checking to see if the tickets were winners. Rick found a winning $50 ticket, and used that money to purchase five more.

The incidents were caught on the store’s cameras, and according to the criminal complaint, Rick admitted to officers she took the tickets and scanned them.
