A winter storm watch is in effect from Sunday morning to Monday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, ice accumulations of approximately .25″ is possible during that time frame in Marion County and the surrounding area. Snow and sleet is also in the forecast, and may mix with freezing rain. Spotty damage to power lines and tree limbs is possible, and slick road conditions are expected during the Winter Storm Watch.

For those planning to travel south this weekend, an Ice Storm Warning has been issued for all of Missouri, most of Kansas, and part of Illinois until early Monday morning. Widespread ice accumulations above .5″ are expected.
