Pella Christian alumni are invited to tomorrow night’s home basketball doubleheader against Newton to celebrate coach Larry Hessing’s 600 career victories.

He earned that win when the Eagles beat Norwalk last Saturday, and is actually sitting on 601 after knocking off Dallas Center-Grimes Tuesday night.

Of those victories – 409 have come at PC, while the other 192 were earned at Dakota Christian in South Dakota and Central Christian in Minnesota.

Hessing told KNIA/KRLS Sports that he couldn’t have reached the 600 win milestone alone.

“I’ve just been blessed with tremendous opportunities for a long time to coach in different schools, in good schools. I’ve had good players who’ve had supportive families, and you just try to do the best you can with what you have. And I’ve been give a lot of talent.”

Tomorrow night’s doubleheader gets underway at 6:15 at Pella Christian High School.
