The No. 1 in Class 2A Pella Christian boys basketball team is hoping to flip the script on the only blemish to their otherwise stellar record when they travel to Oskaloosa tonight.
A second round through the Little Hawkeye Conference begins with a road trip against Oskaloosa, who defeated 11-1 Pella Christian in two overtimes December 2nd.
Senior Point Guard Levi Jungling says while the Indians present plenty of challenges with their height and speed, he feels the Eagles are playing some of their best basketball of the season, and the team is extra motivated to split the series.
“We’re a far better team than when we played them the first time, I think our defense has stepped up our game a lot, we’ve really been locking people down, and in terms of offense I think we’re really moving the ball well and crisply, and we’re all in the right places I feel like so I think we will ready to go,” Jungling says.
Coming out of a bye earlier this week, No. 7 in 2A Pella Christian’s girls are hoping to take care of business against the struggling Indians girls, who lost to PC 63-44 last month and have dropped all seven conference games thus far by an average of 32 points per contest.
Coverage of the Pella Christian doubleheader at Oskaloosa High School begins at 6 p.m. with Andrew Schneider and Wynne Veenstra live on 92.1 KRLS.
