The Knoxville Basketball Squads managed a sweep over Davis County last night. The girls after a slow start pulled away and won 47-31. The victory may have come at a cost as Shaye Nichols suffered an ankle injury in the third quarter. Before the injury, she was on her way to a career night already with 20 points and six three point shots made. However several girls stepped up in her sudden absence and Coach Jim Uitermarkt told KNIA/KRLS when Nichols went down, more than a few players stepped up their game. Nichols ended the night leading all scorers with 20 points. Knoxville is now 6-9 on the season and 5-3 in South Central Conference play. The boys jumped out and early and then held on for a 66-49 win over Davis County. The Panthers were cruising with a 26 point lead in the second half, but Davis County went on a 20-5 run to cut the lead to nine points, but Knoxville tuned it back around and won by 17. The Panthers were led by 17 points from Ben Wallace and 16 from Chase Larson. Knoxville is now 9-4 on the season and 8-0 in the conference.
