The Knoxville School Board will discuss a proposal for a six percent increase in funding of salaries and benefits for teachers that the Knoxville Education Association has requested.
In a prepared statement a representative from the association told the board at their last meeting that in order to attract and maintain high quality educators at the school, salaries and benefits need to remain competitive. The Association’s request is about on par with previous years. The Board will offer their counter-proposal and negotiate the increase at a meeting at the School Administration building at 11:30 a.m. today.
