Local speech students are advancing to state competition this weekend.
The Pella High School large group performers are sending 71 students in 15 categories. Head Coach Suzi Jones tells KNIA/KRLS News a wide range of acts qualified.
Pella Christian advanced seven of ten entries as well, including one act play, short film, and reader’s theatre. Knoxville will send an improv group, including students Asa Leonard, Quinlin Robuck, Shelby Isidore, Mary Keary, and Brooke Willardson.
Pleasantville’s musical theatre, choral reading, radio news, and improv, as well as four entries from PCM and an improv group from Twin Cedars are headed to state competition as well.
All local schools are heading to Cedar Rapids Washington High School today for performances.
