Despite falling by 25 at home against Nevada back in December, and Nevada climbing since then to a #2 ranking in class 4A, confidence was still high for the PCM Girls Basketball team to go north and compete for a share of the conference lead. Compete they did, falling just short in a 52-46 battle with the Cubs.
Freshman Regan Freland led the Mustangs with 13 points, while Kayla Jennings had 8 points and 7 rebounds, and Rachel Stafford and Kaylee Townsend both scored 7 points. The girls fall to 16-4 on the season. The PCM Boys fell 66-50 to the Cubs, their fifth straight setback. The Boys fall to 9-9 and next take on Knoxville on Monday, while the girls have to wait until Tuesday to finish their regular season against North Polk.
