Poor shooting, turnovers, and a mistake filled game equaled to a loss for the Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad in the first round of the class 4A regional last night to Des Moines Hoover 47-40. The Panthers found themselves in early foul trouble and shots not falling and a deficit of ten points. The Panthers cut the lead to four by halftime and had it tied three times in the second half, but could never grab the lead. Coach Jim Uitermarkt told KNIA/KRLS Sports it was worst case scenario for his team early on. Kendrea Richardson led the Panthers with 13 points. Knoxville finishes the season eight-and-14 and will lose two seniors, Haili Swan and Shaye Nichols to graduation.
