It’s the end of the line for either the Central or Simpson men’s basketball team tonight as the two schools meet in the first round of the Iowa Conference tournament in Indianola.
As the number four seed, the Storm have owned the “proximity rivalry” this year, winning both regular season games via a late buzzer-beater and a dominating effort inside of P.H. Kuyper two Saturdays ago.
However, Simpson has not played a game since last Wednesday as the result of having a bye three nights ago. They got to sit back and watch a dominating Dutch offense ring home a school-record 24 three-pointers in a 105 – 70 rout to secure their spot in the league tourney.
Much like their game against Luther, Coach Craig Douma says his team needs to continue to win the rebounding battle to avenge their two losses to Simpson earlier this year.
The winner of tonight’s game will get the dubious distinction of going on the road to face Nebraska Wesleyan in the semifinals on Thursday.
Cory Houser and Jacob Dreyer will head west for the play-by-play, which will be streamed live on KNIAKRLS.com via the KNIA3 stream. The pregame coverage is set to go at 6:45 p.m. with tip-off scheduled for 7:00.
