After sending the same four wrestlers in back to back years to the state tournament, the Pleasantville Trojan wrestling team will graduate three of those standouts.
Sawyer Phillips, Griffen McBride, and Will Anthony all wrestled for the last time in the Pleasantville colors this past Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena, and the trio leave a legacy that will be hard to replace. Their records over the past two seasons have been outstanding, among the best in the state. Phillips, despite an injury shortened senior campaign garnered a 58-15 record. McBride, at 145lbs in his junior season and bumping up to 160 in his senior year, was an astounding 73-13, and Anthony at heavyweight was 87-14. A full recap of the entire Pleasantville Trojan wrestling season can be found on the Knoxville Hyvee Radio Coaches Corner this coming Saturday on KNIA and KRLS.
