Less than a week after posting a two-game series of 480 to qualify for the class 2-A boys state bowling tournament, Pella junior Jaden Ruth struggled to a 279 yesterday at Plaza Lanes in Des Moines.

His qualifying score was 7th best, but his 144 and 135 games yesterday put him in 53rd place out of 54 bowlers.
