An offseason of waiting will finally come to an end as the Knoxville Raceway will get the 64th season of weekly racing started tonight. The three sprint car classes got a bit of a facelift during the winter as several rookies in each class totaling 14 between the three will get underway. The 360 class could have the best Rookie of the Year race as the top three in points from the 305s, Christian Bowman, McKenna Hasse, and Devin Kline will move up a class. The 305s have a good crop of rookies as Ryan Leavitt, the grandson of two-time Knoxville Nationals Winner Eddie Leavitt, will make his Knoxville Raceway debut tonight. Plus the 410s have the usual cast of drivers including defending champion Danny Lasoski. Track promotions director Kendra Jacobs tells KNIA/KRLS Sports it takes a lot of people to put on races each week. Our coverage will start tonight at five with Live Track Side, then Race Night’s Live at seven on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA and kniakrls.com.
