Pella’s Recharged Robotics Team is looking for support ahead of their world competition appearance.

The group participating in First Tech Challenge is traveling April 26-29 to the finals in St. Louis. Elyse Ogbourne with Recharged Robotics says they are hoping for community support as they try to cover expenses associated with the trip.

“It’s a $1000 registration fee, and then we also have some changes we have to make to our robot, and there are some travel expenses that we have to do, so we’re hoping to raise about $1500,” she says.

Team Captain of Recharged Robotics Nick Dykema says the group was highly rated at the Regional competition, which he credits in part to the assistance of the community.

“We’re the top team in Iowa currently, and we are also the only team from Marion County to actually advance to the World Competition,” he says. “We’re so thankful for all our sponsors and the community outreach and support we’ve received, and we’re really happy to represent Pella there.”
