Iowa Secretary of Agriculture, Bill Northey made a stop at Pleasantville High School Thursday afternoon.
Northey spoke to FFA and Agriculture students about the importance of agriculture in Iowa and what Iowa’s agriculture means to the rest of the world. Following Northey’s speech he was given a tour of the FFA facilities at Pleasantville High School that included stops at the Trojan Iron Works, greenhouse, poultry farm, and livestock farm. Northey tells KNIA/KRLS News the best part about visiting is being able to talk to the students about current agriculture news as well as seeing some of the projects the students have been working on. While visiting the Trojan Iron Works, Northey was presented with a metal fabricated decoration from the Pleasantville FFA.
