On May 1st, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office announced the hiring of two new deputies.
Recent graduate from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy Deputy Riley Calhoun, as well as Deputy Seth Norton, a Knoxville native who will be attending the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in September, tells KNIA/KRLS News one of the best parts about being a deputy is seeing people at their worst and being their first contact to possibly change their life for the better. Norton says he has been a reserve deputy for close to two years and he is excited to serve the people of Marion County on a full time basis.
