The Knoxville Public Library will be holding their Summer Youth Reading Program registration on Monday, June 5th and Tuesday, June 6th.

Youth Services Coordinator Holly Shelford tells KNIA/KRLS News the purpose for the program is to reach out to the youth in Knoxville to help them understand that reading is important and to help the students excel in reading when they return back to school. Shelford says, all parents need to do to get their child registered in the program is to stop in to the library during the registration day and give the name of the child they wish to register. The parents will receive a reading log for their child in which children will keep track of the time they spend reading for a chance to win prizes from the library.
