Beyond expectations. That is what Knoxville Boys Track and Field Coach Eric Kellar would describe the state qualifying meet last week for his team and for the most part, the latter half of the season. Kellar says the South Central Conference meet the week prior to the State Qualifier showed him what his guys can do with their hard work. Girls Coach Brad McWilliams could also say that with many on his team. One runner that comes to mind is freshman Abbey Jackson. She qualified in the 200 and is a part of the distance medley relay team. McWilliams tells KNIA/KRLS she needed some time to get confidence in herself before she could take off. The State Track and Field Meet will get underway at Drake Stadium in Des Moines on Thursday.
