The Pella boys and girls golf teams and all four Pella and Pella Christian soccer teams are scheduled for action today.
The Little Dutch golfers will play in the district meet at Edmundson Park today in Oskaloosa. It’s the final step to qualifying for state, and it was moved up to today from it’s originally scheduled date of tomorrow. Meanwhile, Pella’s girls host Fairfield for a dual at the Pella Country Club.
Both Pella Christian soccer teams play Newton. The boys host Newton, while the girls travel to Newton. If Mike Buchheit’s squad brings home a victory, it will be their 11th of the season, tying a school record. He says that added depth, and health, have been big keys to the success so far this season.
“Everybody is important on this team. We can’t afford to lose any one player because our depth isn’t there to allow that. So that’s a point of emphasis – how we rest and recover between games and how we come into games with fresh legs is very important. How we set up our schedule is representative of that and we’ll continue to do that. Hopefully we can get through this season with any real injuries that can be avoided.”
While the Eagles are in conference tonight, both Pella soccer teams step out of the league. The Little Dutch will head to Perry, while the Lady Dutch host Winterset.
