The Knoxville VA Clinic held their 7th annual 2K Walk and Roll on Wednesday.
The event is a chance for Knoxville residents to come out and support homeless veterans throughout Marion County. Participant of the walk Carrie Carter tells KNIA/KRLS News why her and her family decided to take part in the walk because her mother works for the VA and she wanted to support her as well as all the veterans who have sacrificed and given so much to the country.
Jaxson Willis who chose to run during the 2K was the first participant to finish. He tells KNIA/KRLS News his grandmother asked him to participate in the 2K and once he found out what it was for he knew he wanted to do it. The Knoxville VA Clinic accepted donations for homeless veterans during the event as well as supplied water and snacks for all the participants. Members of the VA Clinic Staff also participated in the walk.
