Ian Madsen, Clint Garner, and Kade Higday may have won their respective 410, 360, and 305 races Saturday Night at the Knoxville Raceway, it was the 360 B-Main that had everyone talking. With three laps to go and everyone comfortably in their transfer spots, Alex Hill and Alan Zoutte were battling for second and third place when Hill tried a slide job, abruptly slowed down, which caused Zoutte to run into the back of her car and launch Zoutte completely out of the race track in turn one, ironically crashing through the Slidewsays sign on Slideways Karting Center Night. Zoutte’s car ended up in the outer fence next to the sidewalk. The force of the crash nearly catapulted Zoutte onto Highway 14 where debris littered the road. Local emergency services had to shut down 14 for a time to allow for the crash to be cleared. Zoutte somehow walked away from the crash and Hill suffered a bruised foot. As for the racing ,Madsen led all 20 laps to cash in on his second win at Knoxville this season, Garner assumed the lead at lap seven and drop away for the remaining 11 laps, and Higday, after three restarts pulled away to score a perfect night, which was quick time, wining your heat and winning the A-Main. Next week is National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Inductions, plus the USAC Amsoil Non-Wing National Sprint Cars invade the Knoxville Raceway.
