The Melcher-Dallas Coal Miner’s Days begins today.

The first day of festivities will include music in the gazebo by Ole’ School DJ, chainsaw tree carvings, vendors, pony rides, an inflatable carnival, and fireworks at dusk.

On Saturday the day will begin with the Fire Department 5K Race at 9 a.m. Registration the day of race costs $25.00 with all proceeds going to Melcher-Dallas Fire and Rescue. The parade will follow the race at 11 a.m.

Vendors, an inflatable carnival, kid’s games, lawn mower tractor pull, local entertainment at the gazebo, kid water fights, and a fire department raffle will be part of Saturday’s activities. Activities begin Friday evening and continue on Saturday from 7 a.m. through 5 p.m.
