On Monday the Knoxville School Board approved the purchase of two new scoreboards for the Knoxville High School Gym.
The new scoreboards would replace the old scoreboards that have been a part of the gym since the gym’s construction in 1996. Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News the board has had plans in place for the past year for overhauling the gym and making it nicer. Pearson says the floor will be completely redone, new paint and a new mural will be part of the overhaul which includes the addition of the new scoreboards. Pearson says the school board also discussed the possible addition of a video board to the gym and she says there is potential to add one, but with a higher price tag a video board would take more fundraising from the school.
