Three runs in the third inning broke open a close game and allowed Knoxville to cruise past Newton last night in the Panthers final regular season baseball game 6-1. Knoxville spread seven hits over the six innings on offense led by Cameron Liston who went 3/3. Ben Wallace got the win tuning up for postseason going three innings allowing just one run on three hits, three strikeouts and two walks. Coach Matt Miller told KNIA/KRLS Sports the guys were much more disciplined all the way around than their games over the weekend. Knoxville ends regular season at 27-7 and ranked number nine in the latest Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association class 3A poll. The Panthers will take on Pella in the district on Friday.
