Just after 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon the Knoxville Police Department responded to a report of a man brandishing a firearm and threatening residents.

Lt. Aaron Fuller tells KNIA/KRLS News when officers arrived the suspect fled police in a gray SUV before pulling up to his home and running inside. Knoxville officers surrounded the residence and the suspect later turned himself over to police custody. The suspect was later identified as 33-year-ol Jeremy Manser of Knoxville. Manser was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, a Class D felony, going armed with intent a Class D felony, Operating while intoxicated second offense, assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying weapons, and harassment 1st degree. Manser was last arrested in 2006 for eluding and operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent. He was booked into the Marion County jail.
