Today we continue the countdown of the Top 10 sports stories of the 2016-2017 school year at PCM High School with number three.

The Mustang football team in 2016 blew through their district schedule outscoring opponents 371-29, earning them district champion honors and hosting a home playoff game against Roland-Story. What was unknown for the Mustangs, was how they would respond to playing an opponent outside of their weak district. When the Norse came to Monroe, the Mustangs responded by running all over the field. Quarterback Sheldon Speers threw for 268 yards a two touchdowns, while Wes Cummings ran for 214 yards and another pair of touchdowns. The Mustangs fell in the next round of postseason play to Dike-New Hartford.
