The Knoxville School District along with different organizations throughout Knoxville held their Back to School Bash Wednesday.

Knoxville School Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News residents were lined up ten minutes prior to the doors being opened and half way through the event the school district had already served more people than an eight hour registration day last year. Pat Finan with the Knoxville Public Library, who also took part in Wednesday’s event tells KNIA/KRLS News the library wanted to make people aware of what resources are available with the library besides books and let them know about upcoming events they might be interested in attending. The Back to School Bash also featured the Knoxville Recreation Center, Knoxville Hospital and Clinics, Marion County Public Health, the Knoxville Police Department, Freedom for Youth Ministries and many other Knoxville organizations.
