Severe drought remains in place throughout most of south central Iowa, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor report.

D2-rated conditions remain in place throughout most of Marion and Mahaska Counties and all of Lucas and Monroe Counties. Drought conditions continued to spread statewide towards the northwest portion of the state. According to the National Weather Service, little to no rainfall is expected over the next seven days.
