With consistent winning comes expectations, and the Pella Lady Dutch and their recent run of success of the volleyball court has increased the goals of the girls in green.

Head Coach Catie Brand says after two straight trips to state, the overall goal of the season is to get back to the U.S. Cellular Center, but she says there’s a lot of work to do in-between to get to that point.

“I don’t think any of us come in from last year with that second place finish, and be like ‘oh, we have unfinished business,'” Brand says. “That was that team and that group of people and it was an incredible season, and we remember it and loved being a part of it–this group has their eyes set on their own path and their own destiny.”

Brand believes the team can contend in the postseason, but they have a lot of work to do and a tough schedule to deal with in-between, and a group of opponents they can’t afford to overlook.

The Pella volleyball team begins the 2017 fall campaign on Tuesday, August 22nd when they head to Ballard.
